Sophisticated thermal imaging night vision
technology is now available in a compact, hand-held camera format with the
launch of Raymarine’s new TH Series. The new TH24 and TH32 Thermal Cameras are
light weight and easy-to-use, giving boaters the power to see clearly for up to
a kilometre distance, even in total darkness.

Priced from $2495.00
these rugged, all-weather hand held cameras use the same proven FLIR thermal
imaging technology as Raymarine’s top of the range fixed mount thermal night
vision systems. This new affordable, portable format makes thermal imaging
accessible and usable by a wide audience.

The TH Series thermal cameras
make pictures from heat, not light. As everything – even ice – has a ‘thermal’
print, objects show up through the thermal energy they emit. Thermal imaging
means users see landmarks, bridge abutments, and other vessels clearly in all
light conditions from daylight to complete darkness. Thermal night vision will
show rocks, buoys, floating debris, and even helps find people in the water,
vital when just a few minutes makes all the difference in a matter of survival.

The TH Series cameras are easy to use, with just three button operation,
and a built-in LED task light. An internal camera (Li-lon) battery provides the
power, and there is a USB cable to charge the battery when not in use. There is
an audible alert indicating when the camera is turned on, and when functions
are  changed. There are three thermal image modes; ‘white-hot’, ‘black-hot’ and
‘red-hot’. The TH24 has a range of up to 895m for sizeable objects such as a
vessel, and up to 320m for an object, such as a person, in the water. The TH32
model also features a 2x digital zoom capability, and has an extended range of
vision, up to 1.23km for a vessel and to 450m for objects or people in the
  water.

Weighing just 340g, the TH Series cameras bring thermal
imagining  technology within reach of everyone and are ‘must-haves’ as safety
equipment for  any boater.

wizard.

Navigate Outside the Box

The e7's new helm friendly industrial design breaks away from box like marine
electronics, and offers a clean, unobtrusive display solution that looks great
on any helm. A smart new shape for marine displays, the e7's sleek, low-profile,
bezel offers maximum display size in a small footprint.

The e7's rugged and handsome design is complemented by "buttonless" buttons

marine processing power taken to a whole new
level.

Steering Wheel Control

Stay in command of the e7 without letting go of the wheel. The optional RCU-3
Steering Wheel Remote gives you simple access to frequently used functions while
underway.  Change range scales, control your music, switch between apps, and
even mark a waypoint, it's all possible with the wireless RCU-3 remote.

Don't need the RCU-3 on your wheel?  You can also attach the RCU-3 to the
supplied lanyard and transform the RCU-3 into a convenient handheld remote
control for the e7. Bluetooth wireless technology makes configuring the RCU-3
remote easy and gives wireless control of the e7 from up to 15 feet from the
display.

Superior Viewing

The e7 is equipped with a super bright widescreen sunlight viewable display
that provides maximum visibility from every angle.  Advanced LED backlighting
offers low power consumption and delivers vibrant color and contrast.

Sport Optic Friendly Display

The e7 display is engineered with an advanced coating that virtually
eliminates the "black out" effect caused when viewing marine displays with
polarized sunglasses.  No more tilting your head or removing your sunglasses to
view the display, Raymarine's new Sport Optic Friendly technology allows you to
view the e7 screen from any angle while wearing your favorite sport
sunglasses.

Versatile gadgets keep i on action
A new range of instrument displays, suitable for all types of vessels, is now available in New Zealand.

The Raymarine i70 range can display a wide range of information, including comprehensive engine data.

This, says Cameron Burch, the Raymarine product manager at New Zealand distributor Lusty and Blundell, is likely to make them particularly attractive for trailer powerboat owners.

"Many outboard manufacturers no longer provide engine instrumentation as standard with their outboards," Burch says.

"The i70 now offers a practical and affordable alternative."

The displays are all NMEA2000-compliant, he says. "This means they can easily be used to show all engine, fuel and trim data [including rpm, speed, fuel consumption and distance remaining]."

Burch says the displays are also suitable for larger vessels, where the i70 can be used to display "environmental" data such as fresh-, grey- and black-water tankage, barometric pressure and humidity. And, he says, in a world first in marine instruments, the i70 can also act as an AIS repeater. "This means a skipper can use an i70 to monitor AIS traffic in the cockpit without having to install a dedicated AIS or AIS/Chartplotter display there."

Although the i70 fits into a standard industry "footprint" and is no larger than any other instrument display, it has, says Burch, the largest LCD display (10cm) on the market and the largest viewable digit size.

The i70 also features a bright LED backlit display and wide 160-degree viewing angles.

Burch says the i70 displays have been designed to work as a group and he believes many owners will opt to use two or more together to show a wide range of information.

"They can also easily be linked so that if one display is dimmed or has the colour palette changed for night-time navigation, all the other i70s on board will do the same," he says.

They use up to 35 per cent less power than other colour displays and will sell for about $1049 each plus GST.

Raymarine’s new powerful hand-held thermal scopes mean boaties can now safely see in the dark, wherever they are on board.

The new Raymarine TH24 and TH32 Thermal Marine Scopes use the same proven thermal imaging technology as Raymarine’s premium T Series fixed mount cameras. However, they are smaller, portable and more affordable and can be used anywhere from the bow to the stern or even taken onto a tender or PWC.

“This makes then an incredible safety aid,” says Cameron Burch, Raymarine product manager at New Zealand distributor Lusty and Blundell Ltd. “Because these thermal scopes use heat rather than light to ‘see’, they can pick out rocks, buoys, floating debris and other hazards, even in complete darkness.

“More importantly, they can quickly help find someone in the water, a real bonus when just a few minutes can make the difference between life and death.”

The new Raymarine thermal scopes are very easy to use and weigh just 340 grams. However, they are also very rugged and waterproof to IP-67 standard and come with a choice of resolution: 240x180 or 320x240.

The TH24 also has a freeze frame feature, while there is a two-times digital zoom on the TH32.

Raymarine’s new thermal scopes are available nationwide through Lusty and Blundell’s network of leading marine dealers.
